Biography

Elisa (she/her) is a PhD researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of History of Science, at the University of Granada. She is currently part of the LEGABO project: “Juicios por aborto en la España democrática: derechos reproductivos, culturas materiales y culturas legales de la IVE (1970s-2000s).” Her research focuses on the history of reproductive rights and sexual health, with an emphasis on intersectionality and gender-based violence, as well as the intersection of law, culture, and material history.

She holds a MA in Gender and Women’s Studies – GEMMA (University of Granada & University of Bologna), a MA in Postcolonial Literature (University of Bologna), and a BA in Persian and Arabic Studies (‘La Sapienza’ University of Rome).

Elisa has experience working with social cooperatives, focusing on women’s empowerment and gender-based violence, and is committed to contributing to gender equality initiatives through research, advocacy, and policy development
