Biography

Journalist and communicator; researcher and lecturer. She has accumulated nearly 25 years of professional experience, successfully combining these roles. Originally from Rute, Córdoba, she has been living in Granada since the late 1990s.

For thirteen years, she led Granada Hoy, becoming the first female newspaper director in the centenary history of the leading publishing group in Andalusia and one of the youngest in Spain. She spent two decades affiliated with Grupo Joly, serving as Deputy Director of Digital at the central headquarters in Seville during her last three years there. She currently works as a Digital Transformation Advisor.

Her journalistic career began at Ideal, initially as an intern and later as a reporter covering local news, culture, and editorial production in both Granada and Jaén. She has also worked for Agencia EFE, the Granada Provincial Council's Tourism Board, and the International Festival of Music and Dance.

At the University of Granada, she started as an associate lecturer and is now a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Communication. Over the past two years, she has also taken on management responsibilities with the university's new rectoral team, serving as Coordinator of Institutional Relations, Secretary of the Master’s Programme in New Interactive Media and Multimedia Journalism, and Co-Director of the La Huella Verde Sustainability Chair.

Recipient of the Meridiana Award for Equality "for being a female role model in the media in Andalusia," she publishes a weekly opinion column in Grupo Joly’s ten newspapers (La Colmena) and provides political and social analysis on media platforms such as TVE (La Hora de la 1) and RNE (El Club de la Opinión with Josep Cuní).
