Through her research project on detecting ‘fakes,’ Encarnaci\u00f3n explores new ways to identify and curb digital disinformation alongside Cambridge researchers.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Between the historical charm and vibrant academic environment of Cambridge, our colleague, Encarnaci\u00f3n Hidalgo Tenorio<\/a>, is currently on a “visiting scholar” stint at the University of Cambridge. She\u2019s there pushing forward her latest project: “Fakes: An Algorithm for the Detection of Disinformation”<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encarnaci\u00f3n\u2019s research is all about creating tools to help spot disinformation online\u2014a timely topic in today\u2019s digital world. At Cambridge, she\u2019ll be collaborating with researchers who are equally curious about understanding and addressing these issues. Her work here is part of a broader goal: figuring out how to detect and reduce the spread of misinformation in everyday online interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project joins her ongoing work on Nutcracker<\/em>, a separate initiative focused on how algorithms shape what we see and share online. Both of these projects are about making sense of digital information flow and finding practical ways to handle disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s an exciting time for Encarnaci\u00f3n\u2019s research journey, and we look forward to the insights and fresh ideas her time in Cambridge will bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
