Together with other team members \u2014 <strong data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"738\">Aritz Gorostiza<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"740\" data-end=\"765\">Juan Lu\u00eds Castro Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"800\">Francisco Jos\u00e9 S\u00e1nchez Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"833\">Sergio Castro Cortacero<\/strong> \u2014 she oversaw the event\u2019s logistics and communication.<\/p><p data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"1623\">The project\u2019s principal investigator, <strong data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"955\">Pascual P\u00e9rez-Paredes<\/strong>, who is also an associate member of U^CHASS, conceived this initiative to explore how narratives about freedom of movement are constructed and disseminated in social, political, and cultural contexts \u2014 particularly at a time marked by <strong data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1201\">Brexit<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1203\" data-end=\"1225\">populist movements<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"1231\" data-end=\"1250\">migration flows<\/strong>. The conference marked the culmination of <strong data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1320\">three years of research<\/strong>, resulting in a substantial corpus of more than one hundred stories from European citizens living in countries other than their own. This resource aims to serve both academic and pedagogical purposes by fostering awareness of issues such as <strong data-start=\"1562\" data-end=\"1572\">racism<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1574\" data-end=\"1588\">xenophobia<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1620\">digital misinformation<\/strong>.<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_5174\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5174\" style=\"width: 2048px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5174 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/uchass.ugr.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Imagen-de-WhatsApp-2025-09-02-a-las-09.43.12_64421c02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5174\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pepe Ferrer (UGR), Encarnaci\u00f3n Hidalgo (UGR) and Pascual Paredes (UMU) at the National Event day<\/figcaption><\/figure><p data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"2385\">Over the course of three days, the event showcased a wide range of studies from various disciplines, including <strong data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1748\">pedagogy<\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"1768\">linguistics<\/strong>, with a particular focus on <strong data-start=\"1797\" data-end=\"1819\">discourse analysis<\/strong>, underscoring the conference\u2019s interdisciplinary character. Among the contributions, special mention should be made of the study conducted by <strong data-start=\"1962\" data-end=\"1985\">Encarnaci\u00f3n Hidalgo<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2004\">Borja Manzano<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"2010\" data-end=\"2027\">Sergio Castro<\/strong>, as it represented <strong data-start=\"2047\" data-end=\"2109\">Sergio\u2019s first presentation at an international conference<\/strong>. Their paper, <em data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2234\">\u201cMigration, media literacy and fake news awareness among Spanish secondary school students on social media,\u201d<\/em> highlighted adolescents\u2019 ability to identify fake news and engage critically with socially relevant topics such as <strong data-start=\"2350\" data-end=\"2363\">migration<\/strong> y <strong data-start=\"2368\" data-end=\"2382\">homophobia<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2882\">The conference also featured participants from <strong data-start=\"2434\" data-end=\"2451\">civil society<\/strong>, including artists and political figures who shared their concerns about migration. During the closing session, attendees enjoyed the participation of actor and comedian <strong data-start=\"2622\" data-end=\"2641\">\u00c1lex O&#8217;Dogherty<\/strong>, who presented his documentary <em data-start=\"2673\" data-end=\"2699\">\u201cDe todos lados un poco\u201d<\/em> (<em data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2733\">\u201cA Little Bit from Everywhere\u201d<\/em>), an exploration of the origins of his surname that brings together artists from the performing arts to reflect on the role of migrants in cinema.<\/p><p data-start=\"2884\" data-end=\"3091\">On the institutional side, the closing ceremony was led by <strong data-start=\"2943\" data-end=\"2956\">Elma Saiz<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2958\" data-end=\"3015\">Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration<\/strong>, who delivered a speech advocating for <strong data-start=\"3055\" data-end=\"3088\">legal and regulated migration<\/strong>:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"3093\" data-end=\"3352\"><p data-start=\"3095\" data-end=\"3352\">\u201cFor both the host country and the country of origin, the benefits are enormous \u2014 economically, socially, and culturally. We must ensure that these benefits, which have already been scientifically proven and supported by data, become evident to everyone.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"3354\" data-end=\"4029\">The project\u2019s dissemination phase concluded with a final event held at the <strong data-start=\"3429\" data-end=\"3452\">European Parliament<\/strong> in Brussels. Accompanied by MEP <strong data-start=\"3485\" data-end=\"3507\">Marcos Ros Sempere<\/strong>, representatives from the universities involved \u2014 <strong data-start=\"3558\" data-end=\"3568\">Murcia<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3570\" data-end=\"3581\">Granada<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3583\" data-end=\"3595\">Zaragoza<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3597\" data-end=\"3610\">Perpignan<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3612\" data-end=\"3634\">Naples L\u2019Orientale<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"3640\" data-end=\"3654\">Parthenope<\/strong> \u2014 along with institutions such as the <strong data-start=\"3693\" data-end=\"3749\">International Center of Photojournalism of Perpignan<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"3755\" data-end=\"3771\">NGO In Limbo<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"3777\" data-end=\"3807\">Digio Soluciones Digitales<\/strong>, presented the project\u2019s main achievements. The session emphasized the importance of promoting a <strong data-start=\"3905\" data-end=\"3946\">shared European narrative on mobility<\/strong>, rooted in <strong data-start=\"3958\" data-end=\"3971\">inclusion<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3973\" data-end=\"3986\">diversity<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"3992\" data-end=\"4026\">respect for fundamental rights<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6dbc694 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6dbc694\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-core-v316-plus=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6e69a3e
