Organized by the University of Granada in collaboration with the University of Vienna, the program brought together experts, researchers, and professionals from across Europe to discuss emerging trends and methodologies in scientometrics.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Over the course of five intensive days, participants engaged in lectures, workshops, and case studies focusing on key areas such as <strong>research assessment frameworks<\/strong>, <strong>bibliometric indicators<\/strong>, <strong>open science policies<\/strong>, and the <strong>ethical dimensions of data use<\/strong> <b>in research evaluation.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Several members of <strong>U^CHASS<\/strong> had the opportunity to attend the opening sessions of the summer school. The introductory panels were led by <a href=\"https:\/\/uchass.ugr.es\/es\/miembro\/nicolas-robinson-garcia\/\"><strong>Nicol\u00e1s Robinson<\/strong><\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/uchass.ugr.es\/es\/miembro\/elvira-m-gonzalez-salmon\/\"><strong>Elvira Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong><\/a>, who offered participants a comprehensive overview of bibliometrics, its main concepts, and its relevance in the evaluation of scientific activity.\u00a0<span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Other members <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">also had the chance to collaborate in the organization of the event. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/uchass.ugr.es\/es\/miembro\/victoria-di-cesare\/\"><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\" data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"693\">Victoria Di C\u00e9sare<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> y <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/uchass.ugr.es\/es\/miembro\/sergio-castro-cortacero\/\"><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\" data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"725\">Sergio Castro Cortacero<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> supported the Austrian organizing team by assisting with <\/span><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\" data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"817\">reception and event management<\/strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">, as well as <\/span><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\" data-start=\"830\" data-end=\"890\">providing support in supervising the practical exercises<\/strong><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\"> conducted by the invited lecturers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The school featured several prominent figures in the field of bibliometrics, including <strong data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"292\">Professor Wolfgang Gl\u00e4nzel<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"294\" data-end=\"324\">Professor Nicola De Bellis<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"356\">Professor Juan Gorraiz<\/strong>, who is also a member of the <strong data-start=\"386\" data-end=\"415\">ESSS Scientific Committee<\/strong>. Thanks to the collaboration of <strong data-start=\"448\" data-end=\"461\">Clarivate<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"475\">Elsevier<\/strong>, y <strong data-start=\"481\" data-end=\"500\">Digital Science<\/strong>, students had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from these organizations, making the event a valuable <strong data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"648\">networking platform<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>After the presentation of the projects developed throughout the week, students had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of scientometric methods and their practical applications in research evaluation.
