Biography

Benamí Barros García is a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics and Slavic Philology at the University of Granada. He holds a PhD with international mention from the University of Granada (2011), for which he was awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize, as well as a Master’s degree in Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2015), and a Bachelor’s degree in Slavic Philology (2006). His research focuses on Second Language Acquisition, Translation Studies, Slavic Studies, Applied Linguistics, and Computational Humanities. Throughout his academic career, he has led various research projects funded by institutions such as the University of Granada and Santander Universidades, and has actively participated in six European projects, along with several national initiatives supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. He has published in journals indexed by WoS and Scopus in the fields of Cultural Studies, Applied Linguistics, Cognitive Science, History, and Literary Studies. He also serves as an external reviewer for several academic journals in these fields. He has supervised two PhD theses on Corpus Linguistics and Discourse Analysis and is currently supervising four PhD theses focused on technology-enhanced approaches to second language acquisition and teaching, as well as cognitive linguistics. A key focus of his work lies in science communication and the social impact of research, with a strong commitment to public outreach and knowledge transfer.
