Research Agenda
Internationalization and excellence
- Consolidation of research lines and enhancement of internal collaboration at U-CHASS through joint participation in national and international project calls, and the supervision and co-direction of predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
- Establishment and strengthening of collaboration and mobility networks with leading institutions at the international level through participation in mobility programs, participation in international doctoral programs, as well as through institutional agreements with centers of similar characteristics
Talent acquisition
- Active participation in the search for new talent, through the promotion of U-CHASS activities and the introduction of talent acquisition policies to participate in both predoctoral and postdoctoral calls (e.g., FPU, Juan de la Cierva, MSCA).
- Creation of a visiting researchers’ plan to boost not only the mobility of C-CHASS members but also to attract external talent wishing to come to C-CHASS for research stays and collaborate with internal staff.
Interdisciplinarity and collaboration
- Strengthening of multidisciplinary research lines through the introduction of a program for preparing European funding applications to boost the acquisition of European funding in interdisciplinary fields.
- Creation of a training program for master’s and doctoral students with an interdisciplinary character that combines theoretical and technical contributions from the social sciences and humanities with the most advanced techniques in machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Knowledge transfer and social impact
- Creation and promotion of the corporate image of U-CHASS by creating a dynamic website for the unit that reflects all its activities. Likewise, it is proposed to introduce a plan for disseminating and spreading research that experiments with different digital communication formats (e.g., podcasts, videos, storytelling).
- Creation of open research days in which U-CHASS’s activity is showcased, serving the dual mission of disseminating and presenting the research results of U-CHASS and at the same time acting as a showcase for the unit’s trainee or postdoctoral researchers.
