The unit is formed by more than 20 faculty staff from various background: linguistics, literature, history, library and information studies, computer science and media studies among others.

The mission of U-CHASS is to redefine how the social and human sciences tackle contemporary social challenges

Core research areas

Our goal is to be a forward-thinking entity that responds to the pressing social issues posed by technology today. To realize this mission, U-CHASS is organized around three major research areas:

  1. Countering Disinformation and Addressing Social Polarization.
  2. Digital Humanities and Cultural Metrics
  3. Science of Science

Our aim is to make significant scientific and societal contributions by developing innovative methodological and theoretical solutions. These solutions address critical social phenomena, including information consumption, emerging cultural forms, the expansion of scientific knowledge, and heightened public engagement with research, all within the framework of Open Science principles.
