Biography

Lucía Bennett-Ortega is a PhD candidate at the University of Granada, Spain. She earned her undergraduate degree in English Studies in 2020 and her master’s in English Literature and Linguistics in 2021. Lucía is currently supported by a Spanish Competitive PhD grant (FPU) from the Ministry of Education (2021-2025), conducting doctoral research on the fiction of Richard Powers under the supervision of Dr. Miriam Fernández-Santiago. Lucía has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Glasgow (April-July 2023) supported by a FPU Mobility Scholarship, and at the University of Illinois in Chicago (January-July 2024), supported by a Fulbright Scholarship. Her research and publications focus on critical posthumanism, disability studies, vulnerability studies, and feminist criticism.
