Maribel Alejandra Mella-Guzmán is a PhD student at the University of Granada (UGR). She is a midwife and holds a master’s degree in bioethics from the University of Chile. With over ten years of experience as an Assistant Professor at the University of Chile, she has also served as a consultant for UNFPA and PAHO, focusing on midwifery education and sexual and reproductive health. Her research interests concentrate on two main areas: bioethics in Latin America from a gender perspective and gender-based violence, particularly the health sector’s role in addressing this issue.
